The Africa Federation of Sign Language Interpreters (AFSLI) Conference

The African Federation of Sign Language Interpreters (AFSLI) is a Pan-African organization dedicated to advancing the profession of sign language interpretation across the continent.

AFSLI empowers interpreters by connecting them with training, policy development, and community engagement opportunities that prioritize the Deaf community’s needs and cultural context. As a collaborative hub, AFSLI unites national associations, fostering unity across linguistic, cultural, and national borders to promote inclusion and accessibility.

The Rwanda National Union of Sign Language Interpreters (RNUSLI) is Rwanda’s leading body advocating for interpreter recognition, ethical practice, and accessibility nationwide.

RNUSLI supports community inclusion by building capacity among sign language interpreters and collaborating closely with Deaf associations and stakeholders. As the host of the AFSLI 2026 Conference in Kigali (March 23–25, 2026), RNUSLI is committed to delivering a world-class experience for all delegates and participants.
